I notice that the bus stop on Winston way, outside the new school has now been marked out on the road, and the "Bus stop not in use" sign removed, However many parents still park there, not just for a few moments to drop off their charges, but to congregate and have a natter. It won't be long until this denies a bus the chance to pull in and collect/drop off passengers which will mean firstly that the bus will block the busy road, and secondly passengers will have difficulties embarking and disembarking, especially those with walking difficulties or who use chairs. A friendly Parking officer dispensing advice in the first instance will surely help those that are law abiding to realise that they must stop somewhere else, and after warnings a crackdown on illegal parking might stop this behaviour.
Aside from the inconvenience to bus passengers this situation is dangerous as the driver door of the car will open onto the main road and the person dropping off the student will be exposed to fast-moving traffic. I sincerely hope something is done about this before a tragedy occurs.
