yet another residential tower block. ok, the new residents/occupants will put money into the coffers via council tax. let's hope they don't have children or require urgent medical attention.

this is another reason for saving king george a&e and also calls for king george's to be DEVELOPED to cope with the growing population to the west of the bhr trust area.

So this is going up on the "island" roundabout near the police station? why would anyone need a hotel there? I also notice the ground floor has A2etc is that takeaways? (more?) Also 101 flats would make it fairly tall has anyone noted the windyness/breezes below tall buildings which make them unwelcoming? Where would these people be working/comuting/schooling/doctoring? The other flats in all the other buildings are sold/rented???
Just a few thoughts.

I think you'll find this development is going to be built next to the tower block that's just been built on the site of the old Ilford Palais, between there and Riches Road, not on the island roundabout.

I suppose the shops that are there at the moment will be compulsory purchased to make way for yet another monstrosity in the High Road.

julie- a1 is shops, a2 is financial and professional(nudge, nudge, wink, wink. know what i mean ;-)) services, a3 is restuaraunts and cafes(fyi, a4 is drinking establishments, a5 is hot food takeaways) and b1 is offices (other than a2) as far as i know. why a hotel, why not? people are going to need accomodation when the olympics come to town and as we know, ilford is a desirable destination.

seagull- you're right about the location, it's opposite lynton house. the leases (as i'm sure that's what is on the existing properties) have probably expired or already been acquired by the developer.
