The London Week of Peace (20-27 September) is a series of free events designed to improve community cohesion and reduce crime.

There are some great events in Redbridge and Central London for both adults and young people. Go on, spread a little peace!

Find out what's on during the London Week of Peace

One week of peace in the whole year, I don't suppose it's too much to ask!

If we are very good do we get 2 weeks of peace? Maybe we could build it up to a month!

Perhaps a whole year of peace for those living around Melbourne Field? 8)

Is peace the same thing as quiet?
I feel really sorry for people having to have their ear-drums battered for hours on end for the selfish pleasure of a few. These people should not have to want to flee their homes every week-end because they live next to Melbourne Park.
My own ear-drums are occasionally battered because other people have other ideas about how to enjoy life, and I am really really glad to be able to flee to the peace and quiet of the allotment! Not perfection perhaps but pretty close.

Most of the time it is an oasis of peace and calm - Melbourne Field that is. But you should hear the language from the
rugby players! talk about blue!

There is a subtle difference between hearing a noise, and listening to other people's conversations.

Have you noticed how people have conversations that you can hear from 30feet away - sorry 10 metres, is everyone deaf now? As for the rugby players they are shouting directions at each other and believe me, they use the c word often.
