Been trying to get admission for my three kids in one of our local primary schools Farnham Green and Barley lane been on the waiting list for two years. :o
What on earth is going on ? Why has'nt the council made any planning provisions for the expected increased demand in primary school places.
Took me 40 mins to get through to primary admissions department this morning.

That was their argument over a year ago. They wanted to build more houses etc on land such as allotments, without consideration for frontline seervices such as hospitals. They did consider schools, however, unless they made multistory homes, schools, hospitals etc, it would be impossible to accomodate the influx they under estimated.

Part of the "chaos" is caused by high birth rates, lack of self-restraint, feckless attitudes towards casual sexual relationships, and an all-too-easy cash benefits system. The rest of us are left to pick up the bill.

Interesting replies from my first posting !

@ Mr Hickley

Despite your stereo types the crisis has'nt been caused by "high birth rates, lack of self-restraint, feckless attitudes towards casual sexual relationships" but by good old fashion poor local government planning.

The inability of the council to plan for the needs of the people who live in the borough.

Maths 101

number of kids born at King Georges Hosp + New flats and houses built + migration (within UK and outside)

= Number of primary and secondary school places needed.

As a tax payer it would be nice to see some of my hard earned taxes being spent on our future "the borough's children".

You are entitled to disagree with my views, and to criticize them; but at least pay me the courtesy of spelling my name correctly.

while not totally responsible for the problems, morris' list of candidates is certainly a contributing factor which if not reined in will only cause the problem to spiral out of control. the job market is not infinite and the increasing unemployment figures prove that. as taxes from the working pay for these services where is this extra cash to pay for the extra services going to come from. your "hard earned taxes" being spent on the borough's "future" are taxes currently being spent on a future problem.

your maths is flawed as there only appears to be one item that the council can control and know in advance(new flats and houses). the other 2 are moving targets.
