The school in Loxford Lane currently caters for 11 to 19 year olds but if proposals are implemented it will mean that Loxford School will offer both primary and secondary education from two purpose-built buildings on the same site. The Borough has been facing a shortage of primary school places over the past few years and as a result has expanded a number of existing primary schools to cater for more pupils. The sharp increase in demand for primary school places from September 2011 is set to continue, due to the increased birth rate and families with younger children moving into the Borough.
