Hi Folks I know that this will bring a flood of protests, but I am a cyclist and use the cycle lanes where ever possible. BUT the cars parked in them means one has to keep weaving in and out onto the road and this can be very dangerous. I wish cars were NOT allowed to park in cycle lanes.

The cycle lanes that I have seen are mainly on dual carriage ways, where the lanes for the motorist have been reduced to accommodate the cycle lane. Parking is not normally allowed on dual carriageways.
Perhaps you could try cycling on the pavement and many cyclists do - illegally!

People parking like this makes it more dangerous for the motorists as well - we have to watch for cyclists coming out, and give extra room coming up to parked cars. This often means you're on the wrong side of the road!
We seem to have plenty of wardens patrolling Ilford - is this illegal, and can these people be ticketed?

And if you want to see a cycle lane that leads into one of the worst stretches of road in Ilford just try going down Ley Street near the junction with Wards Road. Who needs a mountain bike track when Ilford has its very own in Ley Street,
Opposite the council depot too.
Strangely the bpavement has just been relaid when the road is in far worse conditions.
Priorities somenone?
