Just checking to see if BBCode formatting stills works on this as some of mine has been removed.
I wonder why?

Hello,

BBCode has always been working on the Redbridge i forums.

All postings must be accessible to all forum users, adding coloured text and in bold font does not meet accessibility for all users.

Forum postings must be kept in standard format.

Thank you,

Redimanager.

Let me know when you've removed all the coloured text and bold fonts from the main Redbridge-i website, please.

In other words COMPLETE, TOTAL and UTTER RUBBISH!

Well at least the type size of Weggis's "doctored" post was far easier to read than yours!

Interesting exchange. I decided to go and check the terms and conditions of this Forum. I clicked on the link and, hey presto, was sent to a page with delicate hues embellishing the effect and distracting us from the important points written black on white with smallish print. (Apart from the silly little symbols some of us can pick from a chart, a skill I have not mastered yet but I am not bozered.)

So why is the default for all text on this forum to be coloured grey?

They don't want you to actually READ what's on here!

I'm interested in why there is so much green and blue on this site as they are the most common colour combination in male colour-blindness. My husband can read the site's webpages but he sees the green and blue as a bland sort of beige, not clear at all.

Would it be too much for Redbridgei to carry out a survey to see which colour people prefer?

Blue is another that is clearer than the awful grey.

Fortunately, no having two plastic eyes (following two cataract operations) I have as near perfect eyesight as is reasonably possible.

Morris obviously has good eyesight as well, judging by his previous posts.

However, if he uses his good sight to re-read myrmidon's post he will note that her husband will only see the text both of his last posts as beige.

Beige text on a white background is not a good combination!

The point is that those with sight problems need the best possible contrast between text and background and this is only possible - especially for those suffering with colour deficient sight - by using black text!

My little granddaughter's school website (yes it is a Redbridge school) has various different articles and information on it in all manner of different coloured text.

It makes the site look interesting, rather than everything written in black and white.

Look at the top of this forum page, lots of the text is in BLUE!

There's loads of B L U E words all over this forum. I suggest Redimanager changes it all to grey PDQ to comply with their own rules.

But is it accessible to readers with vision problems?

If it is text, it must be easily legible to all!

If it is a picture, it can be as pretty as you like ...

As Knowsie well knows, however a web page is configured by the provider, it does not necessarily control how it is viewed.

Each PC user can configure their viewing options on Contrast and Font Size as well as other facilities.

However, there are "accessibilty" rules which have been discussed here before.
