or, more accurately, he's found us!

A beautiful mature tabby cat has taken up residence outside our house since the end of last week. He's un-neutered, a grey tabby with a white bib and paws; very good natured, tame and friendly and also very hungry. We're feeding him outside as a short term measure but would love him to be reunited with his own people before the weather gets really cold again.

We don't know if he's lost, abandoned or maybe belongs to somebody who's been admitted to hospital. This morning, we took him to the vets to be scanned but he isn't microchipped.

It's the Colenso Road area of Seven Kings/Newbury Park but there's no telling how far he may have travelled to get here! If anyone reading this has any idea where he might have come from, or has a neighbour or friend who's lost a cat, please PM me because he's obviously somebody's much-loved pet and we can't keep him because our own cat loathes all others of her own kind!

Frankly I don't give a toss whether this lost pussy is Mrs Slocomb's or not. And if it's from round here I'd prefer Scribbles to keep the bloody thing.

I have no objection to people owning pets, provided they take responsibility for them and their (word removed) waste products and anti-social behaviour.

What I do object to is this:

Dogs who bark at me because I am in my own back garden and the dog "packages" deposited outside my front garden wall, presumably supervised by their blinkered and "couldn't give a (word removed) owners.

Cats who (word removed) in my garden while I’m not looking.

I have no objection to squirrel(word removed), bird(word removed), fox(word removed) etc because they are wild animals and they do not go home and sit in the lap of some (word removed)holie “animal lover” who doesn’t give a (word removed)(word removed) about anybody else’s health or hygiene issues.

GOT THAT?

It's good news and a happy new year for the puss!!!

He's been happily re-united with his people. They don't live far away; went away for Christmas and asked a friend to go in and feed the cat. He escaped and so spent his festive season in our back yard.

Our cat's looking disgustingly pleased with herself - I'm sure she thinks she scared him off! Lovely to end the year on a good note.

Happy 2012 everybody!
