Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) have helped reduce crime in Fairlop by a quarter.
Since the introduction of the teams in April 2006, crime is down from 969 incidents to 711 reported crimes.
In January this year officers from the SNT have arrested 4 people, one person for disqualified driving, another for fraud and two people for breaching their anti social behaviour orders.
The SNT were introduced in every ward across the Metropolitan Police area, each one is made up of one sergeant, two constables and three Police Community Support Officers.
Their aim is for local officers to police the local area, interact with their residents and the problems that directly concern them.

We used to have a local sub police station in Hainault, it was hardly ever open which I suspect led to an increase in petty crime and Anti Social Behaviour ASB.
I think that the office has since been reopened and that the local police from Failop SNT are now using the building once again?
Nothing like good old fashioned policing, bobbies on the beat, a visible deterrent etc etc.
