Congratulations to the Fullwell Safer Neighbourhood Team on their actions in tackling one of the fears of the public when using one of the Cash Points in Barkingside High Street which recently have been the targetted by thieves.
The team over the last weekend handed out warning notices advising of the hazards and what action they could take when using the cash machines. In addition to this a CCTV van, deployed from Redbridge Borough Council enhanced the operation and assisted with monitoring of the situation.
The shoppers and traders I have spoken to welcome this positive action to reduce crime and make Barkingside a better and safer place to shop.
As one of the councillors for the area I visited this operation and am plaesed with its outcome and hope this will be repeated in the future

Only hearsay but I have been told that children are being used to observe and then follow more mature ladies who go to a cash point before heading for the Bingo Hall. I was told that, recently, an attempted bag snatch by two young girls (aged around 12) was stopped by the security guard on duty at the time. Could anybody either dispel or corroborate, please. annesevant

Fullwell Councillors Ann Candy, Nicholas Hayes and myself wish to place on record our thanks to the whole Fullwell Safer Neighbourhood Team under direct of Sgt Chris Chandler for the help and assistance that ward councillors have received and wish them success in moving to the Fairlop area.
May we also give a welcome to Sgt Andy Hobson and his team which took over on the 1st April and we look forward to working with them in the period ahead.

I know nobody likes to receive a parking ticket but selfish parking around school is creating problems for residents and others using the facilities in the vicinity of schools. The gates to the allotment car park for the Fullwell Avenue site are frequently blocked, not only preventing people from entering but blocking the exit too, which is very naughty. (Before you start thinking: 'lucky them, they have a car park, the car park was built to give more space to the users of the school in the first instance.) Now, this morning, who was busy policing the parking but our neighbouring team. A big thank you to them and I hope the message will spread quickly. (And, of course, I still remember that I can take pictures if necessary and that this evidence would be followed up!) annesevant:d

Regards moderator8 :) And the last Borough Commander moved to Haringey, but that doesn't mean we've changed our location (God forbid!).
