Hi I am chairman of Goodmayes Residents Association (Jim O'Halloran)
Regrettably I view these "conversations" with the usual cynicism, in as much it makes the council look as though they are interested in the views of the residents whereas, through experience ,I've found its the usual stock council answer that is given 9 times out of 10, which is "I hear what you say" which roughly translated, " I hear what you say, but I couldn't give a toss.
But here goes, lets see if they actually read this.
1 We have been campaigning for months now to have a site meeting between GRASS, the Highways Dept, Chief Engineering &BuildingServices Officer, and local councillors over our concerns about the neww traffic system at the Junction of Green Lane and Goodmayes Rd.
We want Double yellow lines with loading and unloading restrictions to be implemented from Goodmayes Rd to Alloa Rd. including the 10 metre corners of Broomhill, Alloa, Aberdour, and Airthrie, It reall doesn't take a two months to set up such a meeting , DOES IT?
2 We have opposed the plans for the now derelict site of St Andrews Church, which the council upheld. This we are grateful for.
but it now appears that Swan Investments have appealled to the government. We have asked to be able to meet the government official when he visits the site. To date we haven't been informed.
3 We believe that the number of conversions of houses into flats or multi occupanciies in this part of Goodmayes has reached saturation point and the council should now refuse any further applications.

I think the new traffic system at the junction of Green Lane and Goodmayes Road is one of the worst in the borough. I don't often drive down there, but on the two occasions that I have, I found it most confusing.

What was wrong with the way it was before? I think this scheme was a total waste of money and must have cost a fortune to put in. Whoever designed it should be called to account.

Hi

I leave in goodmayes and junction at green is the worst. No thought has been put into, I have seen many drivers completely ignore the sign on the road and seen a baby and mother nearly knocked down.

As with regards to flats there are too many and the area becoming flooded and infrastructure has fallen apart.

I have lived in Goodmayes for 15 years and i have felt like the council don't acknowledge us
I have complained about the amount of learner drivers in and around Goodmayes is stupid, on a daily basis i have to fight to get round 10 to 15 "L" drivers, can these instructors not take the Learners other parts of the borough as well .If you think that it's not that bad take a trip down Mayesbrook or any of the road between the park and Goodmayes Lane and you will see them lined up to take their turn to reverse around the corners.

It happens elsewhere too - try the Commonwealth Estate in Ilford, Firs Estate in Snaresbrook, and Cathedral Estate, for example. It would be even worse if ALL those who drive took both lessons AND tests before doing so.
