Please Please do not waste money and plant trees in the streets especially in the Commonwealth estate area I know what will happen some thug will come along a vandalise them I love trees it would be better for the council to let us plant a tree in our own back gardens then at least we would take care and protect the tree.

I disagree - I think if anything there should be more, not less trees planted here in the Valentines Ward. I also think parts of the Valentines ward, such as the area around the park should be made into a conservation area. Too many people have moved here over the past ten years and chopped down every living thing so that they can pave over their front gardens and erect huge outbuildings in their back gardens (which are ugly, block light and prevent people from fully enjoying their own gardens - it's very unfair and I am shocked that Redbridge Council allow this - it is not allowed in other boroughs without strict planning permission).
This area seems to be a free-for-all and planting some much needed trees would only be the start of trying to make this area look once again like a nice suburban area, instead of a concrete slum, which is what parts of it currently resemble.

Agreed - and not just in Valentines ward either, we need more trees everywhere.
