We need to be careful in these times of deception. The mystery of iniquity was already at work when the apostles walked the earth. Read about Peter Magnus. I believe there may be some sorcerery going on in the church today. Charismatic churches with large populations are where the best sorcerers will be sent. I don't understand - are you saying that the only good priests are the uncharismatic ones? Surely if a priest is open and honest that is enough?

Next to St Peter & Pauls is a Catholic Club, which is very good on some nights. As for St Peter & Pauls church Yes the Priests there are very good, admitedly I have not been there for a while because I choose to attend a out of area church (Catholic of course).

It's nice to know that some Parish's are still sociable enough to have a club! There is absolutely nothing wrong with parishioners wishing to socialise together, after all the worship together!

Well said Crazycat. The "Ilford Catholic Club" resides at the The Guildhall, 342 High Road, Ilford for anyone wishing to seek it out. I have frequented it on a number of occasions and it has always been a very hospitable place to visit. However my favourite Catholic Club sadly no longer exists - you simply could not beat the friendly welcome you got when you went to St Augustine’s Social Club, the atmosphere made it such a friendly and welcoming place, the members were so friendly. It was a sad day indeed when it was closed!

There has been some good news about the building that housed St Augustine's Social Club - the council turned down a change of use application trying to turn it into a Gym. Well done the council. The hall has been closed for well over a year now; the loss of earnings from the hall must be having a devastating effect on the finances of the parish. Now all we need is for it to be reopened as a Social Club!
