Congratulations to

1 The Borough
2 All those who voted
3 All those who worked behind the scenes to help people to vote
4 Those in Council who enabled us to make the most of this opportunity.

Now we wait and hope that the money will be spent wisely, I have confidence that it will be and look forward to a renewed park area. It's a great park and what with the wonderful renovation of Valentine's Mansion and the prognosis for Fairlop, I am glad to live in Redbridge. Indeed on a visit to Stratford yeasterday, I was approached by an interviewer in the street whose first question was whether I lived in Newham, and I found myself saying proudly "No, I live in REDBRIDGE". Unfortunately not good news for him as he needed the views of Newham residents, but I surprised myself with the enthusiasm of my statement.

Let's hope that the money comes with sufficient strings attached to ensure that it is spent for the purpose for which it was awarded, and not frittered away on "consultancy fees" or "officer costs".

Congratulations to Redbridge, Fairlop, and all residents, (I voted for this), I hope that the money will be wisely spent, and not used to fund the running costs of this great park.

In This Scrutiny Report there is mention on page 13 paragraph 5.4 about the sailing centre no longer being fit for purpose, and goes on to state...

" for these reasons it may be beneficial to move the operation to the west end of the lake"

This is a one off opportunity to totally update these facilities, and transform this venue into a leading sailing centre, and competition standard fishing lake.

Congratualtions Redbridge.

It's all very well being happy about Failop Waters but what about Goodmayes Park?
Of course, I voted for Fairlop, it's my area and it's a precious bit of countryside ( with a strong historic value) and it is close to the urban area. Of course, I know that anybody will be able to enjoy the facilities. However, the people who voted for Goodmayes Park must feel a bit left out. Can't we share? Or is that not allowed?

Yes a great boost for Fairlop Waters, perhaps we can improve the sailing so that school children can go sailing instead of swimming!

It should be remembered how this money was released by the Mayor of London - he cut the advertising budget to provide the £4m for the parks, Redbridge should take the same attitude and slash their advertising budget (including Redbridge Life)
of £2.062 million last year and use it to renovate the rest of the boroughs parks.

Yes indeed.

And what a wonderful Sailing Centre it is - however it could do with a bit of a improvement as the facilities need upgrading.

Any chance of the money being spent on it?
